Located in a National Heritage Site, this 1000-hectare farm has to be seen to be appreciated. |  | The ideal mountain getaway, this lodge is at an elevation of 1800 meters above sea level, with lush green summers and snow-covered winters - in the shadows of the mighty Drakensberg mountain range. The ultimate getaway-from-it-all, the Drakensberg Lodge is accessible only by 4 x 4 vehicle or transfer arranged by us.
AccommodationDrakensberg Lodge accommodation is in Canadian styled cabins, with thick log walls - each with its own fireplace. All rooms are twin-bed with their own en-suite bathroom.
RestaurantThe Drifters Drakensberg Lodge features a main communal lounge, dining area, and cosy bar for socialising, overlooking the Royal Natal National Park and famous Amphitheatre. All meals are catered at the lodge.
And if you are keen to relax around a traditional South African 'braai', we will only be too happy toarrange it for you.

 | | Facilities and AmenitiesThe cliffs above us are home to a colony of Cape Vultures, the foothills home to Eland and many other animal and bird species as well as lush indigenous forests with hidden caves and ancient San rock paintings.
Dramatic waterfalls, deep valleys, and high peaks provide the ideal terrain for hiking, climbing, exploring, mountain biking, horse riding, or simply taking in the views. A large, stocked dam makes for refreshing swimming or may keep those fly-fishermen occupied. Guided horse trails are available on request.
DirectionsFrom the R74 between Harrismith and Bergville, follow signs to the Northern Natal Drakensberg / Royal Natal / Alpine Heath. From Alpine Heath resort a 5 km 4x4 Drakensberg South Africa track takes you up to the Drifters Lodge, or Drifters will collect you of arranged with our offices.
